Algeria: Explosion at security center in southern city injures 24
The 24, 14 civilians and 10 gendarmes, were injured after a suicide bomber drove a car packed with explosives into a security building in Tamanrasset (approximately 2,000 kilometers south of Algiers). Southern Algeria has witnessed persistent attacks from Islamist militants against security forces, however, this most recent attack is the first in this particular area of the nation.
Travel to Algiers may continue as normal, while it is advised to refrain from all non-essential overland travel to regions outside the capital due to increased military operations and activity. Read More>>
