PSD Training
PSD – Personal Security Detail is basically another term for Executive Protection, yet it is more in use when referring to "high risk executive protection" services, as provided, these days, in countries such as Iraq or Afghanistan. Not everyone is cut for this line of work and not just any training titled PSD Training, is suitable to prepare you for it. With the above in mind, here are the topics a serious PSD Training should contain, providing its participants with the needed know-how and skills: The operating principals in hostile environments. Individual fighting skills. Hand to hand combat. Team-work and tactics. Field medicine & first aid. Background information about target countries such as: basic phrases in the local language, customs and habits, dress codes (when not using uniforms and overt fighting gear), the local potential enemy and his favorite MOs. Sabotage (scanning, recognition, counter measures and tactics). Suspicious indicators (typical to target country). Usage of relevant operational gear: weapons (long / short), protective gear (individual and vehicular armor types), optics (sights, designators, night vision equipment etc.), communications (encrypted & overt) and navigation aids (from compass to GPS). Operational usage of vehicles. Advance party procedures. Operational Briefing Routine and Emergency Procedures Surprise Events & Response Drills We've put this list together for those individuals that are serious about making PSD work their profession, with the intention of guiding them in the right direction, so they won't do the wrong choices when selecting their PSD training, a choice that might affect their own safety.
